TradFi is short for Traditional Finance. This means banks, insurance companies, and other lenders and mortgage suppliers. These are normally very regulated, and any funds can be blocked or taken by the government.
TradFi is often used as a derogatory term, meaning a project or protocol isn’t decentralized enough, charges too much, or is slow and more focused on the directors’ salaries and shareholders’ gains than on users.
