Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is a set of international laws enacted to curtail criminal organizations or individuals laundering money through cryptocurrencies into real-world cash.
Centralized Exchanges (CEX) normally need to comply with those laws and therefore their clients need to pass strict KYC and AML identification procedures.
